Prince George County has been on the fringes of modern communications platforms until very recently. The County has not invested in community wide broadband support. Even now only part of the 37,000 residents have access to cable broadband and others must rely on satellite broadband or continue trying to use dial up for connectivity.
With that shortcoming in mind, it was nevertheless refreshing to find that Prince George County Virginia is now on Twitter and on Facebook and is tweeting and threading about traffic and weather alerts and upcoming events throughout the day. Maybe streaming important county meetings may be next.
